Missing Body tag
Greetings
I have been lurking for many years while I put may M151 together from many boxes of parts. It has taken a dozen years of part time work to get it on the road. It has 151a1 fenders, a A2 windshield, and no cut or weld marks.
I went to start it up for the season now that snow has stopped (New forecast is 3 inches Monday) and went to take a picture of the body tag so Muttguru could tell me more information. But it is not there and looks like it was never there. Does that fact date it anyway?
Thanks for all the information along the years.
Bruce

Bruce.....
can you post a few photos of it here? (front/rear/etc) or if you can't post, send them to me and I'll post them and hopefully comment on the tag/no tag.

Re: Missing Body tag
Did you find any information about your tag. I have owned mine scene 1975 and just did a full restore. I can find no tag anywhere. I do have a Texas Registration and Title so I can drive it street legal. The Title shows the hood number.

Re: Missing Body tag
Back in April 2016, I asked about body tags and where to find them. This month, I pulled the power pack and under the radiator what would appear but the original body tag. The Serial number is stamped as #16869. This thread is from when I first had the jeep on the road. Now can anyone tell me a serial number range or manufacture approximate date. I will not be changing my title or stamping another data plate but I would like to have the information.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. I would believe that Muttguru has the information but I do not know if he has the time or permission to work on this puzzle.

Re: Missing Body tag
Hello Rick and Red,
if the tag is on the driver's side frame rail under the radiator, then what you have is a straight M151 (not A1) built by Ford Motor Company.
Delivery date would have been between April 1962 to June 1962.
does this help? Let us know....and a picture of the plate and the vehicle would be nice !
Ken
That's the plate ! By the time I posted this first response, I hadn't seen the picture.
It would have been built under Ford's contract DA-20-018-ORD-23240.

Re: Missing Body tag
Thank you Ken.
Any idea as to a registration number that would be on the hood?
You have certainly narrowed the date range for the birthday for my jeep.

Wouldn't the "run 1" only be on the 1960 models?

Re: Missing Body tag
To be honest, I'm not sure, I always thought the run 1 numbers was for the Sheetmetal stampings. There are also early mutts with run 2 number stampings.
