Tag mount option other than in the spare tire.
Make sure it sticks out far enough to clear the gas can strap buckle!
You could probably throw it together with rivets instead of welding the arm to the face plate and a rivet nut for the arm bolt.
2"x1/8 strap for the arm, all I had was 1" sqr tubing but you could use 3/4", a bolt with the nut welded to the underside of the arm and some 1/8"th sheet metal.
Came out pretty good!
Hope it solves the problem of where to put the tag if you have a tire cover or something.

Re: My tag mount option
I had some 1/4" material but talked myself out of that. That would have been overkill!
Made it without using a tape measure, so nobody ask what the measurements are! I did use a square once on it. I can fab pretty quick if I don't have to get bogged down with all that measuring hassel. Eyeball it, mark it, cut it, bend it.
The wife wants one of those wheel discs in the spare tire for her roller derby team logo!

THANKS!
I always thought they were "homemade" by most units. I never knew there was a real military drawing for it.
Perfect for their logo!
