What is it?

Unread post by TrueXena » June 20th, 2008, 11:22 pm

Ok I'll give someone a cookie if they can tell me what the heck this trailer is. We have no clue what nomenclature should be slapped on this. Hubby has asked as many motor-pool SGTs as the trailer has rust spots, and none have been able to give him an answer. (those SGTs where promoted by Jesus himself, so it's not young bucks he's asking either)

Anybody got a clue?

Hey TX,

Not sure what it is, but I may be able to use it. What does that "for sale" sign say?
What size are those tires and rims?

Xena, That's one wierd trailer. It looks like an early Bantam but I think half Military half bubba job. The lunette is just odd. Good luck, I might be wrong but most early trailers did not have hub caps.

$300 (as is) but I'll let it go for $200 to anyone on this board.

Not sure about the size of the tires & rims, but I can go take a look tomorrow morning and let ya know.

Most of the Motor-pool guys have said some sort of Bantam as well. We got it from the Aviation unit the hubby was playing at about a year ago. I'm pretty sure it's missing the tailgate, but not sure if it's missing anything else. Came with a cable as well. Most of the guys think maybe a generator sat on it, or something.

The tires are 7.00 - 16LW (w/tubes) and the rims are 17"

I am almost 78% sure that is for those "Herman" heaters, pulled behind a runway tug to heat up aircraft. I have seen several of them.

I'm 78% sure I'm guessing; but, I think it was a welder trailer. Those are some stout hinge pins, no?

Well, at least we have a few more ideas than we did before.

Since we got it from an Aviation Unit, I'd be more inclined to go with the Heater carrying thingamabob theory. ;)
