Re: Antenna Mount
Jim, I have one of those early rear mounts and they are different. They have cutouts for the footman loops.

Re: Antenna Mount
yes, the new one is half the side mount for the ab-15, you're missing the brush guard. Theres a lot of old radio guys on 503 so i'd check there too. The first mount is probably from a shelter or earlier vehicle mount.....

Re: Antenna Mount
Jim,
You think I am missing this part? Yes, you're right. How does this come together? I think I need a picture ....
.... because my AB-15 mount is different to this AB-15 mount

Re: Antenna Mount
Jim,
Thanks a lot. That makes it clear. Question: I've seen the straight antenna sometimes bent as shown here. Was it done to drive around with the three antenna elements tied down? And is it still the AB-15 base you can bent without breaking it into peaces? If yes, how do you bent it? With heat?

Re: Antenna Mount
The base is rubber and will bend and straighten. Sometimes the whole mount is mounted angled towards the rear.

Re: Antenna Mount
The AB-15 mount is angled slightly to the rear from vertical to keep it out of the way of the door handles when running with doors. There are other reasons too, but that's the little detail that will bite you in the butt first.

Re: Antenna Mount
RickF on the 503 (same one here) mentioned that the mount shown in the first pictures appears to be a part of the M151A1C radio set up. If so, I'm looking for one and would be interested in purchasing it from you.
Best regards,
Jason

Re: Antenna Mount
I'm sure it is now, take a look at below, even has the offset hole to the right. Again, if interested in selling, I'm interested in buying.

Re: Antenna Mount
Jason,
While I am having a part of what Jim showed us, I can sell the A1C antenna mount to you. I have a customer in Germany visiting their subsidiary in Suwanee, GA. So we can save shipping costs and more, too.
I'll send you a PM with my email address so we can arrange the details.
Thanks, Richard
