M4 mount dates
What year did the military change the M4 mount from a solid post to a two part post? I have both types and will be putting one in my 64 M151. Very early ones used the M31C but the m151 tubs broke and needed more surport.

What about blue prints someone on this forum should have a copy of them?

Re: M4 mount dates
Sorry swordmd, I'm probably the latest one here to install an M4 into a 151, but the used mount I pickled up had no paperwork. What saved me was that my A2 had been drilled while on active duty, so I only had to remove the filler bolts and add the M4. I have a TM with some MG mount info, I'll see if I can dig it up for you.

Re: M4 mount dates
I have a TM on the M4 pedestal mount dated 11 Oct. 1963. In it is an exploded diagram showing the individual parts for the M4 and the post shown is two pieces. So at the very least, when the manual was written, the post for the M4 was the 2 piece style.
