My New M60 - Shipping Soon
Hey Guys-
Looks like things are really close. I'll have the M60 on my A2 by next weekend. Joe Scheaffer took these pictures today prior to boxing it up.
This is a replica and as such it must ship with the flash surpressor painted orange.

Re: My New M60 - Shipping Soon
Hey Moose-
I am doing some "dressing up" of my dummy M60, fiddling with security, cosmetics, and whatnot... and in doing so had a few questions. What components do I need to fit into the ammo box to secure the linked rounds? Right now I have 200 link rounds in there but they fit loosy goosy without the correct "pouches"?
I also installed a Mil-Spec lock on the M60 securing it to the cradle. Also a custom cable (which still needs a little work), also attached to the cradle, to prevent some idiot from walking off with the 60. I thought about running the cable down through the pedestal, which does work, but given my parking scenario under the lift I need the full cradle and M60 to come out "easily".
Neither of these precautions are even near failsafe but if I turn my head for five minutes I want to be half-sure that some teenager doesn't get sticky fingers . Oh and to be clear... the receiver on this dummy gun is solid metal. The trigger lock is only there to hide the cast metal trigger, which appears kinda fake, and lend an air of "better be careful" to the display

Re: My New M60 - Shipping Soon
the linked belts went in cardboard boxes, which went in the nylon bandoleers, two per ammo box. I got the complete repack kits here, http://www.oldsargesdropzone.com/produc ... t=23&up=10 for $10.00. They'll definately look authentic then and won't be "loosey-goosey" anymore. Thanks for the pics, your setup really looks great.

You guys can't have M-60s, you'll shoot your eye out.

Re: My New M60 - Shipping Soon
Here is an image of my M-60. It is not a dummy. It was made by RAMO in 1966.
I occasionaly mount it on my Jeep down at Knob Creek or when I am on my own property.
Nothing has the sound of, or says "GOOD MORNING VIETNAM!" better than an M-60 running through a belt of hardball and tracer.
