Water Pump Question

Unread post by Rookie » June 21st, 2010, 7:20 pm

Is there a modern day equivelant of the M151 waterpump that I can buy from a local part store? I don't want to buy a Chinese made pump (which is all I'm seeing through the surplus market) and the NOS pumps appear to have gone dry? Any information is appreciated.

Thanks, Rookie

I don't know man but I'd sure like to know. I've had a Chinese aftermarket one fail very shortly into it's service. Would love to know if there's a domestically made one too.

Cross reference parts I have recorded are the following, however I don't have first hand experence to give any input.

NAPA #58-244 and A1 cardon # 58-421.

That sounds good... any previous experience with these parts guys? Same exact fit or what?

Rookie and Matt,
I ordered one of the NAPA ones (58-244) and it was a rebuilt original core, even with the correct part number on it. It is working fine.

Looks like Amazon has them for $45.79 with shipping. Oreilly Auto Parts and Napa didn't have them in stock and their prices were 2.5X Amazon's.

I just received a "NOS"?? from Red River Parts & Equipment that was $42.50 + $12.25 to ship to me, it has US markings on it, I had to take some metal off 1 mounting bolt boss so it would clear the timing cover.
