Safety strap

Unread post by ldj1002 » June 18th, 2010, 4:10 pm

I have a safety strap that goes from the seat back to the dash and can't figger out how to thread the thing on. Does anyone have a diagram or link to how to put it on? A photo would probably work if from the right angle.

It might be the seat you have. Check to see if there is a loop on the upper outside of the frame....or if the loop is on the other seat frame....the seat frames might be reversed. Seabee

Re: Safety strap

Seabee, sorry I didn't make myself clear. The seat does have the loop. I know it goes from that loop. What I need to know is how to install the 3 pieces of hardware that the strap goes through. You know it is kinda like the way your overall straps go through that thingy that makes it adjustable.

BTW, The seats are identical, The loop will be on the inside of the drivers seat.

Idj, maybe this photo will help. Like Seabee says, just play with it for awhile and it will work out. I am well into my Friday night cocktail hour so I cannot remember how I did mine either

I have a strap on the drivers side to discourage people from sitting in my Jeep. I welded a metal loop to the seat frame the same as on the stock, right side.
I loosened the strap so you could see how it is configured.
The two sliding loop retainers on the strap takes some serious thinking.

Seventeen gallon tank.
I put that on all of my vehicles, using peel-n-stick numerals.
