M416 metal thickness
Anybody know what gauge steel was used for the tub of the M416?

Not sure this will help but it's the best I can do. I got a reading of .064 on the fender, and .056 on the tub, don't know what that will equate to in gauge and you need to allow for 1 coat of paint.

Thanks a bunch. This chart, http://www.sheetmetalguy.com/sheet_meta ... _chart.htm, would put that in the 18-16 gauge range depending depending on paint thickness.

Well the mutt is 18 gauge and the 416's were made at the same time, I would put my money on 18 gauge.
