It's For Sale Again..Not Mine

Unread post by Rainman » May 12th, 2009, 8:39 am

Just noticed on ebay that this M151A1 is for sale again. I watched the auction the last time and was surprised at the reserve that he got a bid. Now it's up for the original price again, with no mention of the previous sale falling through. We can all hope the market has turned the corner and all our M151's are worth this much.

He did not research EVERY detail very well did he? Wrong shovel, wrong straps for shovel and axe. The odds of a MWO covering a 65 for the ROPS is slim. Gloss paint on hood. And speaking of hood, That is not one of your hoods is it rainman? Looks a little bowed in the middle! I have been to Middlebury Vt. many times. It is a beautiful little town.

Rick

P.S. Note the antennae mount on the left rear corner, That is the same mount I have on mine but nobody has any info on it.

rick, the m151 is worth, say, $6,000, the trailer $700 and the 4 m-16s 12,299! Yeah right!
I like the VN campaign medal decal, though, that must be worth something. have to get me one of those.

Looks like he used an old belt for pioneer straps, and HEY, THATS MY HOOD! Must have been a shill bid to get things started, but it can be expensive if you have to pay the listing fees for a bogus $18K bid. The antenna doesn't look that unfamiliar to me. It's for an AB-15 antenna base for the 115, 116, and 117 antenna parts. Your going to need that Rick for the R442 your mounting back there. I've seen them more on M-38's than M151's, but it's not strange, just early.

Note also the use of a Fording Valve without the Fording Kit. Not the restoration that I'd think would bring that kind of jack but what the hell do I know. Also what were those Canadian ROPS? The mounting at the rear looked odd to me.

That antenna mount is just an early mount for the AB15.I have several of them as well other variations on the corner mount.

It may have been a marine corps A1 and had the fording kit at one time. In addition to the fording valve, it has the marine corps A1 tie down D rings on the back corners.

OK, That just answered all my questions about that mount that nobody knew about before. It has to come off to put my fording kit on. I do have the later side mount.

This jeep is ex marine corps....................Its not far from me. I never seen it finnished but I remember 2 of them as rolling tubs. I have been meaning to drive by to see if its listed locally. Going to be a hard sell at that price but the owner is not hurting for $$$
