Spade options on the M825

Unread post by sarmadq » April 9th, 2009, 2:02 am

Where does one put a spade on the 825. I have mine on the driver's side taking place of the axe, so I have to choose between the two. Though I have had the need for the spade more, so far.

Having looked around & after trying to nudge the spade under the spare wheel where the spade housing is, I have decided to take it to the fender. That means I need to either do away with the electrical outlet completely or relocate it.
What I have in mind is to relocate the unit to the top of the spare wheel guard.

I have to admit I was inspired by this picture, and then the one on my T-shirt for the spade.

I have no clue where the elec outlet on these vehicles went if not above the fender. Any leads before I start putting holes in the metal :?:

Sam,
The fender mounted is the correct one. However if the slave receptacle is a problem, you might want to relocate it under the front passenger seat. This is how the USMC did it on this FAV. You probably need to shorten the cables though.

I went for a smaller spade which fits perfectly on the fender.
