It is the "show me" state, so I guess you showed us! That jeep looks mighty happy in it's new surroundings there Seabee. Can you blame it? :D Very nice.

OH oh, and the towing shackles, are they backwards, or is that actually correct? I sure see the idea of having them that way, but always have mine on revular with the Marine bumper, and they look awkward. Very interesting.

I guess MUTTs are like motorcycles; why don't they have hood ornaments? Because they naturally attract back seat ornaments. :D

I also noticed it but did not say anything because I am not sure myself. They look cleaner that way but all of the ones I have seen are turned around. That way would actually hold the straps out a little further. We should ask Toptiger since he has experience in stea..... er, lifting these mutts.

heck - that was 40 years ago,Rick, and I can`t even remember my old officer`s serial number or MOS. BUT all is not lost I can recite my enlisted serial number with no problem - Guess those Ft Dix Drill Sergeants did their job too well.
With regard to anything seabee does, remember ......... there is the right way, the wrong way and the navy way.

And your memory is only one of many things going ..... Seabee is not a grey color, and don't get Rickf mad at me when you mention hammers. He really does think this is my answer to anything that needs to be fixed. Although we did a lot of cover up and walk away, most of it with wood. Service numbers ?????? WHO DOESN'T REMEMBER !!!! In my sleep !!!! I think the Mutt looks good like it is, and who out there would mention it as "not marine "correct. It looks good, so it must be right ! If someone really knows, I'll question that too. If it works , then that is what matters. LOL , kaboon this thread.....we made it to 11. Seabee

:D I am told by Ed MacKenzie ( the former owner) that this was a Barstow Mutt and that is the way the shackles were when he got it, I also think it works better that way for airlifting, more room for the straps to clear the hood, and as an added benefit they don't bounce arround as much and chip the paint. :D As for correct or not :?: if the C O want's them that way "it is right"
