2nd reason not to buy it is that the top is all crumpled.......
1st reason being that I don't have the money

But I would recommend it to anyone looking out for one, seems to me in prestine condition.

Very nice, Clean but not perfect clean. That is exactly how a military vehicle should look.

A 1971 M151A2 shouldn't have emissions control and I think it should be a Ford.

It does look good! Are the miles original? I am not a buyer but I am curious? The model year (1971) sounds wrong to me too but not a big deal. The Marine Corps bumper matches with the Marine Corps motor. The external fording kit isn't installed but the motor has the fording components fitted and from what I understand that is perfectly inline with how the Marines took their vehicles. It looks real clean, the hood fits the grille perfectly, and overall its real straight. That starting price of $14,000 doesn't seem ridiculous. I guess we know where one of those NOS tops went

emissions controls started I thought about 1974 or so.... and would have been am general at that time. But 1971 would make it a historical vehicle .......... a lot of newer mutts were registered as 71's back in the day for that reason.

Hi, thanks for all the replys, the fording kit was taken off and will go with the vehicle, as for the emissions and date, I'll talk to Mr. MacKenzie and see if he can shed some light on where this Mutt came from. I have driven this vehicle and it runs very well, starts on the first crank with out the choke, yes that is the original miles, it only had 367 miles when he got it. I do know that it was missing a lot of parts and they were all replaced with NOS. :)

I'm surprised he'd want to sell a sweet machine like that... he did a good job on it!

Could you tell me if all the weather gear (doors, curtains, etc) is included? Where in Florida is the jeep and is it available for a test drive? Can you also mention exactly how the title is written (year, manuf, model, etc)? Are any spares available to go with the jeep? Let me know how to contact you/the owner and I will ask the questions that way if you prefer. I am interested in the emissions info as well.
Thanks.

Hello Lindsay and welcome to the G838 Owners Club, I will see to it that Mr. MacKenzie gets your name and number, I'm not sure he is looking to trade but it is worth a shot. Dan.
