Wiring harness ID help please.
Good afternoon All,
I have come across a wiring harness than I have been unable to ID.
Pics attached and if anyone can decipher the part number from the tag in the pics and confirm what it is, I'd be very grateful.
You're going to need good eyesight.
The turn signal section appears to be integral.
TIA.
Gavin

Pretty much impossible to tell with it all wrapped up. Is that all one piece or a front and rear harness tapped together? The branches off of what appears to be the front harness do not look like M151. The wire number you show that is visible is not on the standard number list. I also do not see a one wire connector for the distributor.

Re: Wiring harness ID help please.
Thank you, Rick and all good points.
Unfortunately, it's 900 klicks away and I don't want to drive there on spec.
I'll ask for more pics of the other side and each ring connector in the morning, so hopefully, you may see them late tonight your TZ.

Re: Wiring harness ID help please.
George, I am curious to see the tag numbers, that first pic shows a plug that I am not familiar with on a 151 and the very large plug buried underneath appears to be an ICE connector for the diagnostic unit used on later models. I have that on my CUCV. And like I said before, I do not see a single wire connector for the distributor.

Hi
As sead it is a 11630520. A1.
If you take look at the first set pictures at the second one you see. 1163
At thirt one the almost 63. and 0520 so it is. 11630520
At the second set you see above the ignition connector
I think the big connector you mentient is the from the light switch

Re: Wiring harness ID help please.
Ok, I will buy into the part number but I am still wondering about some of the connectors. I agree that the large one is the light switch connector after seeing the new pics but the 7 pin screw on connector, which is not an Amphenol, has me wondering. The one number I can see would point to lights so maybe a turn signal plug? I do now see the one wire distributor plug but there is also a three wire Amphenol connector I do not recognize, Possibly the adapter wire for the 60 amp to 25 amp kit? Still would be best to see how many parts are in this bundle of wires. The branches off the harness don't look right to me either. I am going to have to dig out my new A2 harness and look it over. IF it ever stops raining!!!

Thank you very much George!
It's expensive and a long way away unfortunately, but I'll see if he'll negotiate.

Re: Wiring harness ID help please.
Gavin, Are you looking to buy this harness? If so do you have an A1 or A2? If you have an A1 be aware that A1's came with a 25 amp generator that used an external regulator. This harness is for a 60 amp internal regulator and will need some wiring modifications on the early A1. Also, The A1 used an electric fuel pump and an oil pressure safety switch, this would be circuit #77 which an A2 harness does not have. Again, it can be done with modifications but just wanted to let you know.

Rick you make a problem where there is not one
If you look at the parts Numbers I give and to the first picture's
You can see the parts number from the harnas 11630520 a A1 with 60 amp alternator

Re: Wiring harness ID help please.
I understand that George but the A1 never came with a 60 amp alternator. In 1969 a very few of them were retrofitted before shipping but other than that you had to use the retrofit harness that is the same one across all of the M series vehicles. So basically if he still has a 25 amp generator he is going to have to get a 60 amp alternator to make that harness work. Does he have one of the rare 1969 A1's with the factory 60 amp alternator? If not then he is going to have to spend a lot more for the alternator. He could get an A2 harness and modify it to work with the 25 amp system if that is what he has and it would cost a lot less money I am sure.
The correct cable assembly for an A1 with the 25 amp generator is 10950980 and you will also need 7536151 which is the cable from the generator to the regulator. For this 25 amp wiring you will also need the 11630528 turn signal unit to control cable.
Now, with all of that said, If Gavin already has a 60 amp alternator then everything I put in here is moot point but may be of use to someone in the future reading these posts.

Re: Wiring harness ID help please.
Yes Rick, I am negotiating with him, but we're in First Born territory at the moment.
Now that George has laid it all out - thank you once again, George - I remember that I had one of these either earlier last year, or the year before.
I'll see if a deal can be done, but it'd be a shame to see it get chopped to fit, which happens a fair bit here.
