Fil Bonica Passing

Unread post by Redlight » February 5th, 2024, 8:39 am

I have just been informed of the passing of Fil Bonica. Fil was a long term member of the "G" and shared is knowledge on the Mutt. He lived on Cape Cod Mass. and was a fixture on the forums both here and on G503. He will be missing by all.

Thanks for letting us know. This is a sad day. I have known Fil for close to 20 years and I have to say he was a unique person. Some would say he was brash and obnoxious but that was just Fil. Once you got to know him he would give you the shirt off his back to help you out. One thing about Fil is that you always knew where he stood on any subject as he was not afraid to let you know about it. He will be missed.

Redlight, Please pass on our condolences from the g838 and all of it's members.

Very sad news. Even though I am on the other side of the world and never meet forum members, it feels as though we are all friends. My condolences to his famiy

Sad to hear about Fil. Read a lot of his posts and bought some of the neat accessories he had made for the m151.

sad to hear of this. Fil helped me get mine back on the road with a steering linkage part that no one else had at the time.

I knew I had a picture, just had to find it. This was at Gilbert in 2012 hanging out at my camper. Left to right is Fil, Ron Hill, Myself and Scott whose last name I cannot remember. All members here.

Fil was my biggest reason to visit the Weare rally each year. He always reserved parts and knowledge tailored to my challenges of my restoration. A fair portion of my m151 is from his inventory. Very sorry to hear his passing, condolences to his family and friends.

So sorry to hear this, Fil was such a knowledge base to the G8 world, a wonderful personality. I was able to swing by his way once while traveling Boston area and we grabbed a bite and a beer and talked Mutts. He will be missed. Prayers to his family.
