New mutt design
I have an idea for a new mutt design. Cheap to make and mostly for short drivers.
Just to show how easy it is to do preliminary bodywork on these take a look at that left rear fender on the bottom one, one pull back with a chain and one push down with the bucket and pretty darn close!
Rustbucket and crusher are headed to a new home. A member on here is getting them and he will be building one out of the two. I am not going to mention who it is because he told me he is going to document the entire build so it is up to him whether and when he posts anything.Just to show how easy it is to do preliminary bodywork on these take a look at that left rear fender on the bottom one, one pull back with a chain and one push down with the bucket and pretty darn close!

I have never heard of anyone doing body work with a tractor...A tree yes... phone pole yes...tractor no...
slowest mutt east of the missippi..
Re: New mutt design
Work smarter, not harder. At that point they weren't mine anyway. I am still waiting for the new owner to show some pictures of what he has done. Don't know if that will ever happen. From what I hear he knows what he is doing with bodywork.

Re: New mutt design
OK, I have gotten permission from the person that got these mutts from me to post pics of them as they sit now. You will not believe what you see. That crushed mutt is completely, fully restored! 6 months from the time I delivered it to fully restored, in a backyard barn.
Most of you know who he is, he has been a member on here since the site first started. I have known his capabilities for many years but I had my doubts on this one. He proved me wrong. The only reason he did not post the restoration is, like some of the rest of us, he is OLD! He does not know how to post the pics on here. I will not be doing it right away since I have got my Mustang up in the air in the garage doing work on it that I need to get done but in the next day or two the pics will be up.
Any guesses on who this mystery person may be?

Re: New mutt design
Ok, Nobody guessed the new owners name and I lost track of this thread. But he is our own Halftracknut. He has even posted a few teasers on here but never admitted to anything. Here are some pics of what he accomplished in 6 months in a barn with no lift. I want you all to take note of the 6th and 7th pics from the top. Those two frame rails were bent down from the force of the crush and he straightened them out with a torch, a couple jacks and his tractor. So much for high tech tools!
The transfer of ownership. And it begins Do I have your attention yet?
There are more pics, keep in mind that I delivered this in the end of January and he finished it in the end of June!!

Re: New mutt design
Okay. I am impressed but, I have a serious question and I'm not being a smart aleck. What spurred this fella into all this extra work? ....and it IS extra work if you acknowledge that there are certainly better examples of M151s to start with. What's the back story here?
Re: New mutt design
You would have to know Halftracknut. I have seen some of his other projects and he is someone you would love to meet. You and him are the same basically, neither one of you can stop building stuff. And isn't your mantra "saved it from the scrapper"? This is a guy who built a miniature railroad around his whole property, as in the size you sit on. And also built it from scratch. He taught auto body in a vocational school his entire career. Personally I would be burnt out on body work but not him apparently.
