Sorry, fellas. I've been busier than a one armed wallpaper hanger....

....which is, no doubt, a relief to Rick.

Insofar as the site using too many resources....that sounds like bunk to me, considering how quiet things have been.

Somebody should be asking some very pointed questions about that!

I have been doing a LOT of work on the site behind the scenes. Fil, What is this about? "Either that or shut iff the Server." What is it you are trying to say? You are not going to find as much traffic on here as you do on Facebook. What you WILL find on here is organization and accuracy. I want to find a post from 2 weeks ago I simply scroll back, 2 seconds. A year ago, same thing. Try that on Facebook. And we will not even talk about the accuracy of some of the stuff posted on Facebook. If you like the way things are done there that is fine but do not expect a private forum to be Facebook.

I have asked those questions and I have finally gotten some answers from the account manager. I am working on some things now as best I can. The bots have been killing us and I discovered a hole in one of the permissions so I went through and reset all of the permissions for all of the classes of service. I have gone through the root file on the server and I have deleted a ton of no longer needed files. In the near future I will be setting up the system so that pictures will need to be under a certain size to be posted, I do not have that size yet but it will be reasonable. TJ, I have no problems with your postings since you are already doing that.
I have not been in the system settings yet this morning to see if anything has improved but I will be sooner or later. Keep in mind I am also trying to do all of this without shutting down the site in the process.

As has always been the case as long as I can remember, this time of the year is slow on the forums. There are some with heated garages doing work but most activity comes in the spring. As far as the server goes you know as well as anyone that this site was dumped in my lap when nobody else wanted to take it over. If I did not take over running this site it would have dies 5 years ago or more. I don't even remember when I took over the Admin of the site. Jim is not even taking the e-mails from the host anymore and things are getting to be a pain. I can only communicate with him by Facebook messenger and when I let him know there were some major issues with them shutting us down for resources he had no idea. The e-mails that were supposed to go to me go to him since he owns the domain. Now I finally got in touch personally with the account manager so I hope to get things going again but I am NOT a webmaster, I am a master mechanic. I work on computerized cars, not on computer web sites.

I'm here to support this forum anyway I can, I always have something going in the restoration section. We are not here for negativity, whether it's someone's project, knowledge or opinion, I see this in all of the forums, we need to keep it clean and respectful. We are all here because we have things in common, we like the M151, we like the camaraderie and sharing projects/knowledge with everyone. Keep a positive attitude and everyone keep posting.

Always interested in seeing what people are working on and where people are finding new 151s.
Also have to invite new members to join.
Now I will jump off the Soap Box.

Saturday I welded (2) sets of A1 front fenders. Our weld shops are buried so I brought them home as I have people waiting.

We'll do the spot welding at the shop.

Sunday I moved the 416 out of the lower garage, changed oil in the air compressor and started to organize the garage to prepare for winter PM on the A2.

While it's still cluttered, I now have more floor space and will organize and the start the project.

Now THAT is dedication to your customers! Boy, it must be nice to have a "Lower" garage!!! A rather large one at that. The Lower part would imply you also have an "Upper" garage? Ah, The life of the rich and famous. I know a guy that has this indoor swimming pool also.
Of course this is coming from a guy whose garage is apart from the house, built below grade with sidewalk slabs for the floor and NO HEAT!!!! And not much possibility of ever getting anything better thanks to my lovely code people.

The cold and rainy weather here in Alabama is delaying work on the jeep. I do have a military shelter heater in the shop which would make it less cold in there but you can't paint, etc. So I'm doing Ham Radio stuff and 3d printing for now. I had planned to do some repairs to the M37 but that garage isn't heated.

My brother and I recently sold the family business. So I've been dealing with all that.

Also been going through and organizing firearm related stuff.
Even sold a bunch of firearms such as a early SKS, Spanish Cetme, Marlin Camp 9, Tec 9 aka "jam-o-matic" and all my bolt action military rifles including Mausers, Enfields, etc.

Also sold my H&R M12 single shot heavy barrel .22lr match rifle. It had a Redfield Palma rear and Redfield Olympic globe front sights and shot better than I could ever use it. Passed it on to someone local who competes with it the way it was meant.

Did keep my DCM 1903a3, Swiss K31 Schmidt-Rubin, and a NOS 1944 dated Finnish Mosin-Nagant made by SAKO.

Sometimes you improve a collection by getting rid of some stuff
