Re: USMC Bumper
Thanks to pvtwinger I will have the bumper I've been needing. Since acudanut tagged on to my post and is looking for the same bumper I didn't want to post parts found in the title in case someone else has one to offer. I modified the title of the thread to show who is looking for one.
Re: USMC Bumper (PM Acudanut)
For a while there a few years back those bumpers were everywhere, now you can't seem to find one. I haven't really looked at one close up but are they so unique as to make them that hard to make? It is straight and C channel, is it a strange size?

I was just going to say, I was sent a picture and it looks like 1/8" or 3/16" 2x4 box tubing. Seems that would be a real simple and easy moneymaker Guy.

Re: USMC Bumper (PM Acudanut)
I measured it, 2"x3"x 1/8". One length was 58", the other was 59".Makes me wonder who made them?

Re: USMC Bumper (PM Acudanut)
Well, ten or 20 foot lengths of 2x3 tube would yield either two of four bumpers and when you figure in the saw kerf and grinding to smooth the ends that would be about right.

Re: USMC Bumper (PM Acudanut)
I bought one of these NOS 2 years ago in Findley. I think I paid $40 for it and they had several at the show. If they are getting hard to find and not available, I can look at it. However, if they are still out there, CMD isn't going to be able to make them for $40 and I would not waste our time.

Too bad you didn't buy them all. You could have doubled your money.
