I notice you added music, all I ask is that you don't put in any of that headbanging or rap crap! I know it may appeal to the younger guys but us old fogies can't stand it and since I spend a lot of time on the portal page I don't want to hear it.

Rick

You mean no Sex Pistols :?:  I remember a study I read in college once back in the 80's. The study refuted what everyone (including the reverend Falwell) was saying about heavy metal and punk and it's supposed link to suicide. The study actually found that people who listen to easy listening music are statistically more prone to commit suicide :!:

As for me, lately I've been listening to a lot of Sisters of Mercy lately, Here's 2 of their songs Moose should use, The first is Lucretia, my reflection. 8)

well, the slideshow is no longer in test mode.... for those who don't want music, just click the little speaker icon to mute it. anyone who wants to add their pics, just send them to me using either email or pm, along with a caption if you want, and I'll add them in. I couldn't get any help online as to how to make the block and have the slideshow run in it, but it seems I've muddled through okay since it appears to work... just don't ask how I did it cause I don't even know...hehehe

I think that about completes the original list of what we wanted to have here on the board, if you guys have any ideas of other things you would like to see here, please let me know. I sincerely want this to be a site that meets your needs in our little community of outlaw jeepers....

Moose

It looks great, thanks for your efforts. As one of the other members on here said, I consider myself computer challanged .

Quick question, were the yellow headlights that Mr. Dibbles has on his mutt actually used in the military, and for what purpose? I don't know if they would be legal in PA but I like the look.

The yellow lights were used by the military, mostly outside the US. Some european countries required them, and sometimes they were used due to conditions like in Viet Nam where they provided better contrast in dusty conditions etc.

Yellow Headlights were used on gun trucks in Vietnam by different transportation companies in the 1970s. That is me in the boonie hat during Lam Son 719.

Technically they are not legal here in Texas. That said I have never been pulled over either and I don't run license plates and often have an M-60 on the pedestal. I am knocking on wood right now

Here's a picture of a M151 in Vietnam with yellow headlights but Moose was right on about European theaters... not all required them but some did.

jim, just took a look at the slideshow- if you want my opinion, I would drop the artsy fartsy stuff between slides, takes viewing time and after the second or third one it gets annoying . I just want pics. Requiring titles on all pics would make it more interesting for me, too.

Okay, I changed it to a straight gallery view, although I think its a little boring. I'm not sure what you mean by requiring titles on all pics though Top, All the pics have a caption. Most came with no info from the contributer though.

I was just looking at the slideshow on the banner page and I noticed that HTN's M151 did not have the ROPS netting installed.       And this from the man who is always saying how cool an M151 with ROPS and netting looks, and who is trying to finance the restoration of his halftrack with the sale of said netting :!: :P
