Intank fuel pump replacment.
So my M151 did not have a fuel pump mounted to the block when I got it. Just a electric pump mounted to the fender. After 4 pumps over the last 5 years it was time to go a different way.
I cane up with a low-pressure in-tank pump. And now its built and will start testing it. So far so good.
Will keep you posted on how I do.

So far no problems. Parade tomorrow. Then a show on Sat. We will see ? Will be putting about 85 miles on her. Wish we luck.

Just ain't the same as the good ole "tic-tic-tic-tic,tic,tic,tic, tic. Be real interested to see how it works out. That could be a worthwhile mod for someone wanting to stay as close to original as possible in the world of non existent NOS pumps. Now, if you come up with a solution for the coil issue.....................

Sound in the tank is more a weer now.
Up-date after about 80 miles I had the carb inlet valve leaking. I now have added a regulator on the tank. Think it was just to much PSI (about 11?) Fixed the problem and on with the testing.

Re: Intank fuel pump replacment.
Way too much pressure! 5-7 lbs. is spec., I prefer to stay closer to 5.

Had to try it. Now set to 5 psi.
Re: Intank fuel pump replacment.
That's what experimentation is all about. somebody has to do it so the rest of us benefit from the results.

Would a fuel pump from the larger trucks work? Like....

Seems the depth is adjustable and not sure but are the mating holes universal? Edit - scratch that, looks like different number.

Re: Intank fuel pump replacment.
hi
most in tank pumps are not 24 volt and are for a fuel injected engine (high pressure pumps )
i think the Oshkosh pump is for diesel
below a other pump i do not know if it can be used inside the tank
a option below the seat

Re: Intank fuel pump replacment.
I think Aswayze used the Carter fuel pump inside the fuel tank, I could never find where that was safe.
