Re: Texas M151A1 Resurrection
Great to have a Helicopter Pilot on board !!!!! .
Your Jeep..(my 2 cents only) you might want to look around a bit more, and find a more do-able one to drive. You have everything going wrong (rust wise) on it. Again, just my worthless 2 cents.
Cheers.

Re: Texas M151A1 Resurrection
Thanks! Luckily Guy makes some great products, and has almost every panel and piece that I need to get this thing back on the road. It was driving in more or less the same condition about 3 years ago. I felt the same way about it until I talked to some folks who are smarter on body work than I'll ever be (i.e., they do it for a living), and I've been assured we can get this thing roadworthy again. I'm trying to keep a good attitude about it.

Good to see another Warrant into M151 refurbishing!
I spent some time in my previous life flying H models for the CAV out of the golf course at An Keh, retired from the airlines and now restore as a going broke as a hobby project. IF I can help, please call.

Re: Texas M151A1 Resurrection
That book is amazing.
FYI, I'm slow... As you already know. I've just realized whats been happening with my images on photobucket, so I'm searching for another (more semi-secure) location to host my full res photos. I'll migrate everything over there and relink the images to bring them back when I get the chance.

Re: Texas M151A1 Resurrection
Updated thread with links to my instagram posts of previous pictures. Can't seem to figure out how to embed instagram posts in this forum. If anyone can shed light on that, I'd greatly appreciate it!
*EDIT* 4/22/20: IG Links replaced with clickable pictures linked to IG post.
In other news, purchased a NOS fuel tank for the rig as well as a replacement zenith carb. Should be working on getting it running again soon. Click pics below for more pics in IG post.

Re: Texas M151A1 Resurrection
Today it was time to do something. Anything. Opened the battery compartment and found an old rat's nest... In every sense. Looks like it was a junk repository, and that it may have even been subjected to an electrical fire at some point. Luckily, the literal rat's nest was not from my property, and has been there since the rig was left to rot in a field before I got my hands on it. At any rate, I removed all the superfluous wires and crap, and connected to power for a test run. Lights and primary systems appear to work, as well as the horn!

Next up: removing the antennas/mounts and gun pintle. I don't know how complete any of those components are, but they'll be up in the "for sale" section as soon as I get them unbolted.
