Re: What fuel do you burn?
I'll say it again: there is an absolutely noticeable difference between AVGAS in my vehicles, and regular unleaded fuel. No question. A few of the older MV's I run (Chaffee, Sherman, Hellcat, etc) run like CRAP with regular fuel, but AVGAS makes them purr beautifully. I will no longer ever put regular unleaded in any of them.
And i second the 2 stroke comment. Ever since I switched to AVGAS for my weedwhacker and lawnmower, I have never had to take them in for work being done. EVER. It really is a cure all. I might start rubbing it on my poison ivy and drinking it when i feel crappy!

Kerosene is a solvent with little to no lubricants so I certainly hope you are using a lot more than a deicer as an additive!!! That is going to get real expensive when the pumps and injectors start seizing up.Husker wrote:Our turbines run on basically kernosene with an additive called prist

Prist is preventing icing of Jet-A. I pretty much never add prist for the profiles I fly. What you fly is also Jet-A but it is called differently at the military, like JP-4 or somethingHusker wrote:Our turbines run on basically kernosene with an additive called prist

Re: What fuel do you burn?
Pretty much
Our military fuel has the additives and anti icing stuff in them
We usually ask for prist when we get gas at civilian airports A or A+ with that added I think it also prevents bactirea from forming or something like that

Re: What fuel do you burn?
I don't have a source for Aviation fuel but the local station here has regular no ethanol gas for sale. I have been using that in my MV's, lawnmowers and weed wackers. Everything runs fine.
I even stock up on no ethanol gas when a hurricane enters the gulf since after Katrina. I have kept gas for a year in cans it is it just like I pumped it. It's the ethanol that goes bad.
