For those thinking of coming to the Mid-Ohio, the facilities are really first rate.
Free camping with electric hook-up, and modern indoor latrines in the exhibit area, with an allocated pay campground for motor homes and trailers with cottage rentals also available. Shower facilities and a pool are also free and open to the exhibitors and MV folks, can't beat that anywhere! Lots of G838'ers usually attend this rally with their M151's and there's NEVER any shade unless you bring it with you. Vendors spots are cheap, exhibitors and hobbyists are many, and good times are had by all. I'll drive down with my old buddy George Dickel. He's the only one that will ride with me on the highway with the windshield down.

I'll second that! The facilities are really nice, except for the shade part. I may try to get a cabin this time. (---------waiting for it, Rick,,,,,,)

We got our power back on yesterday had another... storm this afternoon and town power went out again....I ran a generator for 3 days but we are on the grid now...lots of trees down...boil water...no gasoline or ice...state of emergency you get the picture...but mountaineers will survive....had to drain gas out of the jeep to run the generator so the 151 still got us out of a bad spot....htn

Some road closures for those coming to the show. Looks to be a rocky set up day today, but tomorrow should be better and Saturday should be NICE!
Some road detour info...
Anyone coming to the Marengo show From the Northwest, using SR 229. It is closed just west of SR 61. It is supposed to open tomorrow (7/27) but I do not trust ODOT to be on schedule. It would be best if they got off US 23 South at SR 95 in Marion and headed East into Mt Gilead and then South on SR 61 to the campground. There are back road detours right near the blockage, but this would be most direct for those coming from the Northwest.
Also
For anyone who is coming South on I-71, all directions have full access to the campground coming in, but to get back on I-71 North, they either have to take SR 61 North into Mt Gilead (~ 8 Mi. ) and then East to I-71 (~5 mi) or follow the detour signs using back roads.
One more thing, the State Fair is going on right now through Sunday for those interested in making a big trip of it.
Questions, call my cell at: 614-439-862 eight Brian W.

Amazingly SR 229 is open now, so for those coming from the West, its OPS NORMAL.
The I-71 detour still applies.
