Maybe in today's Army but I never heard of much other than a pack a cigarettes or some beer being stolen when I was in. Not saying it did not happen but it was not commonplace. I have heard a lot of disturbing things happening now a days.
Times have changed.

Here are two that I have, both came with Miss Cammo. The Cammo one I believe came from a MV supplier, seems like Mr. R's and you can see the mark is Made in the USA and Heat Resistant and was made by Molly. The shovel with the natural handle is True Temper, also made in the USA (or was) and is almost identical. I suspect this could be purchased at most hardware stores.
I have a matching Ax for each but actually like the natural handle (its oiled) and tend to use them more when I strap them on for show.
Neither of these are the one purchased from Owens Export, I let that one go with Miss Saigon (dumb) but it was just like the Cammo shovel except green.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Frederic, but I need it in the US not here in France.
I have two guys working on getting me some, but thanks.

I had a hard time finding a local source for a wood and metal handled shovel for mine since most come with plastic. I finally found one at Ace Hardware. I was not overly concerned with official GI but did want something that at least looked right.
