reducing noise and vibration

Unread post by Horst » May 18th, 2025, 1:06 pm

I have made the exhaust modification already some time ago. I already forgot how much good it did, but certainly some:

As I had to remove the transmission cover anyway, I added some aluminum-butyl sheets to the underside of the cover. I did a 100 miles round-trip today and I believe it further cut down some noise.

Of course none one of these mods are making a night and day difference, so for longer drives I just use my Airpods Pro to handle the noise...

You'd never survive a Gama Goat, friend.

That said, they're making an EV conversion for Model Ts and As. I reckon it would go into a MUTT quite nicely.

I had 2 M35s. I know what loud noise is ;)

And after more than 30 years flying helicopters and still having good hearing, I also know the value of hearing protection…

Driving a Gama Goat makes driving an M35 seem like a quiet picnic on the banks of the Suwannee River.

The Gama Goat experience can best be described as being akin to having Gunny Ermey put a garbage can over your head and hurl obscenities at you while every troop on Fort Benning lines up with batons in each hand and each swats the can twice as he (or she) runs by.

Ahh. The sweet, SWEET song of the Detroit diesel!

Cheers,
TJ
