Request - Recommendations for Suppliers of New Canvas

Unread post by ODRotorHead » March 28th, 2024, 3:27 pm

I know this has been covered in years past, but I'm hoping some of you can provide updated recommendations for suppliers of new canvas. I can't afford to do it all at once so I'm going to start with seat covers and a strap set. I'm on a budget, but I'm willing to pay a bit more for better material and quality workmanship.

Beachwood Canvas Works?

New Life Canvas?

WeeBee Webbing?

Anyone Else?

Thanks!

Mark

I second Weebee webbing. I have known Dave for many years and my M37 has his seats in it. He does very nice work.

Weebee webbing. Installed new front seat backs and bottoms in my A2 two years ago and immediately after drove over 1,300 miles in 7 days. Extremely comfortable. So much so the wife didn't complain about the trip.

Was canvas and vinyl ever installed on the same vehicle while these jeeps were active in the military? My A2 is done up for the late 70s early 80s so not sure if canvas would be correct that late? It already has vinyl seats and top. The weebee stuff looks nice.

The canvass ended with the A1, They found out that it rotted in the jungle heat and moisture. I much prefer the canvass seats so I am not sitting in my own sweat on hot days. Canvass tops are really nice but they do require some upkeep to keep them in good shape. And if the top is off for an extended period then getting it back on and stretched out is a process. But canvass fits nice and tight where the vinyl is always loose.

There appears to be a consensus. I placed an order with Mr. Pizzoferrato (WeeBee Webbing) last night.

Thanks everyone!

I have vinyl in my A2, but I bought a tarp for my 416 trailer from WeeBee and it is excellent.

You will be extremely pleased with your choice. I've been buying canvas from Dave for over twenty years. Top notch all the way.
