I'm in the process of mounting my aux receiver antenna on the passenger side of my M151A2. I have found photos of 1/4 tons with the mount in two different locations, one higher than the other. What is the proper location? The only advantage I see of the high mounting location is that the antenna is slightly higher in the air. I have doors, but they aren't assembled. Is there a possibility of interference with the door in one location or the other?
The photos below show the two different locations for the mount. I have removed the ROPS on mine.
Also, how is the best way to run the coax from the antenna base through the sheet metal of the vehicle side? Drill a hole and use a rubber grommet?
EDIT: I went ahead and mounted the aux antenna in the lower position.
