No snow in Clarksville. Older I get, the less I like snow. I think I'd rather mow grass 50 times than blade snow once.

That would take a long time to shovel with a scoop shovel! I use the shovel to winrow it, then the snowblower to blow it out in the yard.Of course, time is of no issue I need the exercise.

About 6" before it turned to rai and high winds. Pic was taken about an hour before snow turned to rain. Then heavy snow bombs dropping out of the trees all night. Still about three inches of frozen solid snow this morning.

Bought the snow plow late last snow season, didn't have snow to use until last night. Worked very well as far as the tractor handling the plow. Issue was the ice under the snow. Going to check on chains today. I made the tractor weight about 15 years ago. First time I've used it. It was made from Hardinge live tooling turrets. These were in a machine line that was phased out and these were excess inventory. When I got them they had the paper work in the crate - $1,850 each!

You'll really like chains. I have them for front and back of my tractor. It gives snow remove abilities above it's paygrade.

P.S. Really like your front mounted plow 8)

My tractor is useless in snow and ice with the loader on it. The loader was basically an add on and most of the weight is on the front tires so traction is zip. I have gotten stuck in the middle of a road with nothing but ice on it, Could not move and had to inchworm my way off the road using the bucket curl. I want chains but they are very expensive for tractors! My home made counterweight finally fell apart this summer, I need to make a new one. And all the lead I had in it on top of the concrete is being melted into ingots for bullet casting.

You are correct Rick, chains are expensive. $120 was the price I was quoted for a set.

I have had more than enough rain! And chains for my tractor are almost double that for ONE tire!!!! Mine are 12.5-24 ag tires. They are a strange size that was used on the Massey industrial tractors.

No snow in ATL, GA. But coming from MI, I don't miss it. And the bad thing down here is 1" of snow shuts the city down and toilet paper is more expensive than snow chains. I think the city of Atlanta has two dedicated brine trucks.

Again, don't miss it.

Put the chains on today and did a little ice removal. Works much better. Pretty impressive. We are supposed to get a storm late Sunday into Tuesday so I'll be ready.

I drug out the old snowblower that I haven't touched for ten years or more and pulled it all the way up to the garage. It still turned over so pulled the plug and squirted some WD 40 in there and checked for spark, Yep, got spark. Put plug back in and sprayed some carb cleaner in carb and yanked the rope and away she went! Gas tank had water in it so I pulled the carb off and it was rough but I managed to get it all cleaned up and started putting it together and.................................... I lost that little tiny clip that hols the needle on the float! It either fell off when I dropped the bowl off on the machine which is where I found the needle or it hung on the float and fell off as I carried it to the bench. I think it fell off on the way to the bench and finding it on an old worn out concrete floor is not going to happen.I guess I will scavenge all the other motors I have in the scrap pile that were going out next week and see if any of those carbs have what I need or will work in place of the one I have. I have a new Harbor freight motor but I am not trying to change motors in a hurry.
