Re: Found on CL - (Not Mine) 2020
Those two trailers in NY are full retail, IMO. If he sells them separate, I'd take just the lunette eye one, but have feeling each one has some strengths and weaknesses that you would need both, and you'd end up with one and scrap, so no home run there.
This M100 is a GovDeals auction in OH and a much better starting point IMO. We usually average about $300 for M100 trailers and M416 trailers found in the SE. Paid $300 for my current M762 which just needs tail lights and a paint job.
Here is the Gov Deal trailer still up for auction :

I was getting ready to put my M100 up for sale but if they are only bringing 300 it can sit back there and rot! I can get almost that much for it in scrap.

Re: Found on CL - (Not Mine) 2020
The M100 weighs less than 600 lbs empty. Presume you would not scrap the lunette eye, casting, landing leg and safety chains as that is the value in these trailers. So, less than 500 lbs off to the scrap yard at .04 cents a lb, or $20 in scrap metal value. Yes, parade or re enactor grade or motor pool grade can bring $1500 or so, but the starting point needs to be in the $300 range to add tires, lights, lunette, chains, wiring harness, embilical cord, paint and a lot of body work. I like working with them as they do not have motors, but they are seldom home runs. To pay $800 to $1000 for a project trailer leaves, like Frank and Mike say, little on the bone.
Re: Found on CL - (Not Mine) 2020
Well, This one is complete and correct and straight. No tail gate. I need one wheel and tire which I know where there are several. The floor I will have to check, It was good but it has been sitting outside for years, If it needs a floor I will put one in.

Re: Found on CL - (Not Mine) 2020
We do fairly well at city and county auctons on old military equiptment. This was a recent purchase from the NC DNR M100 that they used to haul firewood around to Ranger stations. Kept in pole barn when not in use. The most original trailer I ever laid hands on, from data plates to hand brakes, tires and tail lights. Paid $600 and day trip over to collect it. Since it was kept in a pole barn, I guess you can call it a barn find.

Oh yeah! He really DID steal that! Here in Texas we'd lock him up for that (...and confiscate the evidence, naturally!)
