In my estimation a good one is more important!

Re: Which A2's are the most sought after
My (captain obvious) vote/opinion is this: brand name/contract is immaterial as the contract standards/specs were allegedly the same. The real question is "cut" or "uncut?" Whether its Ford or AMG, uncut is way more important.
There are still a few out there. I feel like it took me forever to find one, but a year after my buy, i seem to see a lot of them for some reason. I guess the economy has a lot to do with it too. I'd suspect that if this coronavirus crisis turns out to be a prolonged event there will be a few more than usual on the market.

My A2 is a quarter cut. I enjoy / drive the heck out of it.
Who ever put it back together did a good job. And, it was very reasonably priced. Cut doesn't concern me at all. If you want a show truck, then yes, uncut. My view of the topic.

The 1970 Ford would probably be the only one to stand out and not because of name but because of the fact it was the only year of A2 with the straight across front fender. So you have a one year only A2 and all the rest after that are exactly the same.
And they are only going to be sought after by someone who is interested in that, most people don't care.

Well, I am not a expert on a 1970 A2 (or anything. lol), can you show me picture of what you mean. I thought All A2 had teardrop turn signals.rickf wrote: ↑March 30th, 2020, 8:09 pmThe 1970 Ford would probably be the only one to stand out and not because of name but because of the fact it was the only year of A2 with the straight across front fender. And, it might also interest you to know that while my truck is, undeniably, a 1970 Ford, and all original, it does not have that fender style. In short, not all 1970 Fords have it. So yeah, if you're looking for rarity, that fender style is probably the one that stands out above all others.

I am not so sure about that, would have to verify through Ken but I thought all of the 70's had that and it changed in early 71. Are you SURE you have a 70?

Re: Which A2's are the most sought after
The initial run from what I understand started in 1969 under the prior contract issued in 1968.
The last Ford contract issued in 1970 and delivered after that is probably what you.
It’s a Ford and if it’s a good body then it’s a good find!

The Mutt Guru says otherwise. 1971 was the last year by Ford. Ford also made the 1970/1971 A2's, Until AMG won the next contract in late 1971.
Again, I am no Muttguru and learn more here everyday here. Cheers.... I do own a legit 1971 Ford A2.
