Run on guns, ammo and reloading supplies

Unread post by rickf » March 19th, 2020, 2:10 pm

I went online to order some bullets and powder for reloading. Yea, that ain't happening! All gone!!! There is not one reloading supplier that has any 223 or 45 bullets other than the exotic stuff. Do you know how many hundreds of thousands of bullets that is?! Do people figure that the virus is going to kill everyone and they will become zombies? I didn't even look at loaded ammo but I will bet that is cleaned out also. Where are all these people getting all this money to buy this stuff?

Yup, Went on Wikiarms this morning and ALL 223 and 7.62 priced all the way up to .35 cents a round is sold out everywhere! That has got to be in the millions of rounds!!!!! The Russian companies are loving this! You know they will have the stores restocked FAST, They want to ride this wave as long as they can. I am wondering if we are going to see a massive drop in price one the market is glutted with ammo and nobody is buying anything anymore? Or will it go even higher to try to keep any kind of profit going?

How much ammo does any one person need? I have enough to take over a small country by force but I'm rather sure someone would put a stop to me before I got to the last round.

One round in a sniper rifle from long distance will take care of all those ammo blazers. Unless they are supplying a militia I just don't see the point.

Gonna be like toilet paper. When stores are restocked, it will sit around gathering dust until people exhaust their hoard. That is when the price goes down and people like me pounce

I was at the Farm and Home yesterday to get 400 pounds of fertilizer/crabgrass preventer (they always have it marked way down every March) and the cheap FMJ bulk package ammo was gone, but nothing else was touched.

Also, the long gun racks, and the glass display cases were completely full of long guns and pistols, so no run on those.

our saturday paper had a picture taken at a local gun shop, of their display case. the sign said "toilet paper, $629 a roll, comes with free Glock". according to the article, common ammo calibers are very scarce. i no longer own any rifles or shotguns, so it doesn't matter to me. it's ironic to see people trying to buy their first firearm, only to discover it's not as easy as they have always thought, and there is a waiting period. NICS will probably take longer now, and then they may not be able to buy ammo.
