Re: Dec 7, 1941
Last time I heard there were only 15-20 Pearl Harbor survivors left. They all have to be a minimum of 97 years old. That is if they were in at 17 years old.

Re: Dec 7, 1941
Reminds me of my high school civics teacher all those years ago. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor, and had severe burns all over his body from swimming in burning oil. I greatly respected him then, and even more so now!
We need more people like him today.
Still crazy after all these years.

Re: Dec 7, 1941
I saw several news articles of only 1 of 3 Arizona survivors still alive made it to the memorial this year. I was unable to find a more definitive answer on grand total remaining.

I had 2 or 3 uncles who fought in WW2-- Gradacanal, Peleliu, New Guinea etc., they had a lasting hatred of the Japanese until they died. They would have nothing to do with them, in the later life.

I had 4 uncles overseas, mom made Remington Rand .45s and pop flew b-17s.By the grace of God they all came home but i think the stress killed my grandmother who died in early '46.
