If I remember correctly the A2 used plastic clips. Either way Frontline has them and I believe Saturn also.

Not so quick!
Early A2s used metal spring clips like a1s .
Only late A2s used the nylon strap style wire ties.
Frontline has the replacement metal clips that are more durable than the original spring clips. Kind of expensive!
Restoration Specialties had them in stock at one time but the last time I checked they no longer had them available.

Ha e a drawer full of the original one that were take outs but are missing the barbs. If you were to use them you would need to bond them in place .

Matt! , Did you use the old style spring clips or the newer heavier units?

Restoration Specialties has the smaller spring clips p/ n s22 . the larger spring clips like the original GI one are no longer available as of today. The newer GI clips are available in their catalog. At one time Jeff also had them.

Fil I think these are the style I had purchased from Frontline (as seen on a prior in-progress restoration)... they are not identical to the originals (like I see on my Barstow which are shaped slightly different). I could have sworn though that Jeff sent me two sizes but all of my stuff is across town in deep storage. Needless to say a complete set is 16 clips and I think I bought something like 20 (so I had a couple extras).

The original spring metal clips are almost impossible to find. those are the ones thatI tried getting yesterday from Restoration Specialties. The style Matt showed were available from Frontline at 5.95 each.
If you check with Restoration Specialties I think that they are available for around $ 2.00 each.
If you want some original spring clips without insertion barbs I will send them to you for postage. You will have to secure them in place with some epoxy.
