That is on a pump but cans and storage is yellow. I say that but if you go to buy a diesel can nowadays it can be blue or yellow. Sometimes they denote yellow as kerosene.

A lot of people polish the lines, I think that looks good on a vehicle that is going to be shown. I am a utilitarian myself, my lines are natural color and not even close to concentric bent.

ok, after a 48 hr cool down period and some pm consultation!
I have removed the secure hood graphic, painted all vacuum lines black(it looks great)Painted all yellow accent colors black as well.
I will be assembling the emissions system in the next week.
I have run the vehicle off-road(Florida) so nothing that will work the suspension to its fullest.
If I where to be aggressive in that venue I would go with a narrower tire to be safe.
I will send some pics to Ken shortly.
As of today the work load is in almost full capacity for the painting business for JAN &Feb. of this year already! To me that's a great sign! for the year to come!
Just wanted to thank everyone for your comments! I learn something new every day ,even when I don't care to!
Best regards
Lindsay
Happy new year!

Too those that have called it a FANTASY VEHICLE,
I say this was a concept vehicle.
Maybe the DOD should have looked backwards instead of forwards .
Great gun platform, low profile, Good gas mileage HIGH dependability rate, HIGH MOBILTY, FAST ATTACK
just my 2 cents worth.

Agreed. If you want to see 'fantasy' look at some of the stuff the military is actually considering... Send me bebopping around a war zone in a hopped up side-by-side? No thank you! We've all seen pics up-armored vehicles and what happens when they get bush-whacked. I've seen it first hand. Find yourself in that situation in a side-by-side and there wouldn't be anything left to send to the folks back home. I think some people in procurement should have their noses rubbed in the blood and guts....regularly.

One man's 'fantasy; is another man's 'creative process' and there isn't a thing wrong with that. Enjoy your truck and your new year!

Cheers,
TJ

Thank you Sir!
Nothing on this vehicle was used that wasn't available to them at the time.
Gun mounts, Weapons, Just different configurations!
If I had to go to war this is what I have entrusted my life with at the time!
Shovels and axes fall off all the time! I want mine so I can see them.
I hope Ive calmed some issues down, made it more main stream!
Again , Thank you all for your comments, It made a better vehicle! :D :D :D

Ok ok, I am the only one having a problem with that truck. So what, apparently I am a minority and everybody else loves it. That's good!

However, to keeps things straight, Lindsey, are are admitting yourself that this configuration is something you loved to do and has nothing to do with anything back in the day. Ok, I called it fantasy, let's call it something sounding less negative. In my own personal (!) opinion the only 151 where you can go nuts is building a FAV, I would love to have one!

On the engine bay I will continue to show no mercy. Nobody would have painted lines red and caps yellow...That is plain nonsense.

On the tires, I was seriously interested how they perform. We all agree that the NDCC tires are crap and even dangerous as soon as it get's wet. The tires look great but at least on the pictures a little on the large side and I was wondering if that tire size would rub as soon as the suspension would articulate through it's travel.

Horst, as much as I am not a fan of stuff hanging all over the outside of any vehicle I do know for a fact that in Grenada they did just that. The M-151's there looked just like the WWII Jeeps did back in Europe. There was not an inch that was not covered with something hanging off of it. Then again, they had no rear echelon support so whatever they had they had to carry with them. There was NO rear echelon, they were it! The lines................................. well, I have to agree on that one. Engine color, natural or polished for show.

But he got the message AND he apologized for the rant so lets make this the end of the engine color code issue for this vehicle.

I have LT215-85-R16
Cooper Discoverer on my jeep.
That s what I suggested to Lindsey
They have been on two other jeeps the last 15years.
A few times they rubbed the underside of the fender on a hard bounce.
A different size may not be as unforgiving.
Looking at the engine compartment you can see things that arent factory but if it works for him let it be.
If not and he needs help we are here to help.
As far as I am concerned it’s a neat display vehicle.

I try to lay back and read what goes on in this forum and enough is enough on Linsey's A2 . Nice Jeep , let it be at that and quit dogging him. who care's what color the lines should be. I had a M38 for 25 years and when I got it back in 1971 straight from SAM the grease zerks were painted red and all drain plugs yellow and all fill plugs red. When they got bored in the motor pool they got creative. Seems most of you saying negative things probably weren't in the service .It was what you needed, when you needed it and you got it by stealing or my favorite, it walked away, from armor , from trucks ,from office's or the PILE or where ever, If it wasn't welded down, it was gone. Leave it alone.
