Changed my mind and decided to pull the trigger on an M4 and M142. Please don't tell my wife.
Then modified the Airsoft M60 to fit the cradle.

And just for grins. Here is an airsoft M16A1. Painted the handguards, pistol grip, and stock - gloss black. I put an authentic period green nylon sling on it. Modified an M-16 20 rd mag to fit in the well. Here's some pics of it alongside my AR15 SP1 for comparison.

Not bad but that fake safety on the right side just jumped right out and bit me! Even in the first pic before I looked at the later pics where it was more clear. A Dremel tool and some patience and that would go away. :mrgreen:

Or I could just fill it in. But then I'd have to paint it. That part is unpainted plastic.

It doesn't bother me that bad. :)
