Surplus store finds...still out there

Unread post by MUTT_KAHUNA ED » November 10th, 2011, 7:59 pm

Our town has 2 surplus stores...one is the large old school style with lots of nuts, bolts, cans and lost of misc...the newer, smaller one is the typical uniform, ammo can,mre style..but I still like to browse...last week in the newer one this caught my eye...a old military wooden box with handles.pic #1..it was on top of a clothing rack with boots and clothes covering it..I figure it was empty..peer inside and behold!.... pic#2....in pretty good shape....it will look great along with our other gear at our displays...now,any guesses on what kind of launcher/country of origin?

Just a guess here, I was thinking it might have been Spanish as a bunch of Spanish Bazookas came into the Country a few years ago. But for some reason I want to say that that particular launcher, 83mm, Anti tank is maybe Israeli? Looks like there is some Hebrew writing on the tube near the grip.

Looks like the ones imported from Spain a few years ago. I believe they were copies of a US post WW II bazooka.

It is an israeli RL83 blindside, made by mecar in belgium for the IDF. Basically an M20 copy simplified and made lighter. I have two of them myself, Numrich gun parts used to sell them for a 100 spot.

Yep there still out there. I recently found a box with 12-20 round colt mags, with aluminum followers. and a BC1000.
