Radio Installation sheet

Unread post by muttguru » January 12th, 2012, 6:06 pm

Hi folks,

Richard contacted me yesterday to see if I could supply him with a copy of the installation instructions for the AN-VRC12-series (particularly the VRC-53).
I have a copy of the drawing, which is SC-D-49651. Unfortunately, it's a copy of a copy and when it's enlarged, the detail becomes very blurred.

Does anyone have a clearer version of this, please?
Even if it is multiple scans of separate parts of the drawing...I can always piece the separate scans together later on.

Thanks in advance....
Ken
Kind regards....
Ken

Hi Dan,

It does not cover the VRC-53 but looks good. Can you send me a scan (copy) or can you put it into the "Manuals" section of this forum?

Thanks in advance, Richard

Richard, I have a link on my home computer to a site that has every know military manual free for download. I thought I put it on here but I don't have time to look for it at work.

Here you go, Firefox is a wonderful thing. Bookmarks are synchronized.

Here are a couple.

This first one is labeled as VRC-12 in the manual.

The VRC-53 (from what I can tell) is for the PRC-77 (or PRC-25) with the AM-2060 power supply. So here is a scan of the instal of that assembly.

Rick, Thanks for the link with a huge collection. Unfortunately the TM 11-2300-351-15-4 isn't listed there. :( Also not the SC-D-49651 Ken mentioned before.

Go to the link I put up for "Liberated Manuals" and select all manuals and then scroll down to TM-11-5820-498-35.
From there down about 5 or 6 manuals is all VRC 53.

Rick

P.S. You will hit 801 first, keep scrolling.

Thanks Ken.

I found those pictures (and instructions for many more different radio installations) in FM 11-05C1/2 (July 1978)

It a basic "Soldiers Manual" for radio teletype operator 05C skill levels one and two.
I have found these type of manuals designed for new recruits to be very helpful and simple to understand with lots of pictures and diagrams.
