And just where does the old grease go? Remember the old saying, "If you can't do it right then don't do it at all". My D/I had a much more colorful version of that saying which he used quite often on people who were not quite as profecient at weapons cleaning and assembly as he thought they should be. Thankfully I was top of class there.

Kind of intriguing but it could cause you to use a lot of grease filling the void between the two bearings.

Bravo. We know it's not the very best solution, but we've all seen the results of NO grease on a truck in the hands of someone whose only tool is a hammer. It would take a firm arm (and a really good grease gun) to press that grease past everything and into the bearing but something is better than nothing.
