Thanks for the welcome!
I have turned a lot of wrenches over the years on these rusty hulks and can really empathize with folks here. Following the banter here is like reading Bill Mauldin.
Regards to all and cheers to the brave lad who ventured into the heater install. Do us proud and don't forget to tack on those nuts behind the grab handle, you'll be glad you did!

Re: M151A1 Heater Installation
I was seriously going to buy a NOS kit and install it, rain and cold weather (though infrequent here) makes for a foggy windshield.
Maybe not now. Hmmm. I think a bottle of Rain-X or some other defogging stuff might be in order.

Re: M151A1 Heater Installation
I wasn't going to bother with it either, until one cold day after driving thru a valley, I climed and crested a hill. The air was warmer and damp at the top of the hill, and my windshield fogged instantly. I was driving into the rising sun on a major highway. I'm thankful at times for an open cab when I need to get my head out the side to see where I'm going. I decided that day I at least needed a defroster, so I ordered the heater kit. Yes, you do have to be somewhat of a contorsionist, but the main thing is, don't set a deadline for getting it done. If you want it done "tomorrow night" you will be aggrivated, and leaking from a lot of scrapes and cuts. Just do as much as you can do in an evening, and take your time. You will be satisfied with the result.

Jeff: Are you going to use Rain-X on both the outside and inside of your windshield?

Re: M151A1 Heater Installation
No, Ralph. Just wishful thinking. I've driven it in a cold rain, constantly wiping the windshield with a bandana. No fun.

Did you kit have the operating data plate and switch data plate? Can't find them in my kit.
