hey it's me again I forgot how the gear shift comes out
hello, I have it down to the cup that appears to be holding the gear shift in my question is do you unscrew that cap or separate it from the base with a pry bar like a bearing cap on a car? Dave wonderboy

Yup, that is correct. It unscrews.

Yes, Thank you it's all coming back now a funny thing, although this trans has been dripping for 12 years, the amount in the drain pan was just about what I put in. 3 quarts, maybe it thinned out over the years to make up the extra space. well that part is done one waiting for the engine oil to finish dripping I love the Wix filters "Black" matches the engine.
