$30 plus shipping. Ouch! The $5 tail lights are interesting, but I'm picturing only two in a large flat rate box at $20, so to get a bunch and hope to get a couple of sets that are restorable or even outright good to go, the shipping is the issue. Otherwise, I'd take two toes worth and just clean them up, test them and pay them forward.
Anybody headed to GA from TX?

Well, I can look around and see if I have something that might provide some donor sockets if you still want to go that way.

By the way, since I didn't hear from you I went anyway...and came home with a couple of full LED composite tail light kits because, who doesn't want a set of those on the shelf as spares?

Everything still $5 a light set. That's right - $10 for TWO full LED composite lights. What's not to love?

Are they circuit boards inside the lights or replacement bulbs? I am thinking circuit boards.

This would work just by putting in the socket?

Don't want to hijack this thread so I will take this business over to the Beverly Hillbillies thread. Here, my final word on this is, I want everyone to keep in mind that what I bought is untested so it's a crap shoot until I can figure out how to run tests on them before I buy. I'm assuming these circuit board LEDs will run on very low voltage. I'm hopeful about that because I really don't want to haul a bunch of batteries around a flea market.

This began with my finding a light set with decent guts for a member so let's focus on getting him sorted out. If I understood him correctly he's looking for either a suitable replacement for the standard socket or the entire metal guts (which I felt would be a far easier fix).

In closing, if you're looking for composite lights on the cheap, let's take it up on the Beverly Hillbillies thread.

Cheers,
TJ
