Rick, I need to send you some pic's of my A2. The rear bows in like a older A1. Or so it seems. Hmm
Not much I would be able to tell you from pictures. Very worn bushings will cause that or bent control arms. The control arm swings in a plane with the cross member so there should be no camber changes. If there are you need to look at which way the wheel is cocked and then look at the control arm and picture it being cocked it that same direction, what could cause that? Then look for answers to that question. That would be what I would have to do and the only possible way I could do it would be if I were there in person.

Could be your lower control arm hangers are reversed, R-to-L and L-to-R.
Is that possible ? Do you have a picture ? Thanks

Looking in the -34P there are 2 different brackets for the left inner and left outer and two different brackets for the right inner and right outer. The manual does not state what the difference is so my best advice is to use matching pairs, right and left are one digit apart in either set of numbers.

If someone has been there meddling around, it should be pretty evident. Here's the image from the 34P. I believe you will find the actual part numbers will be stamped on the hangers if there's any question as to what goes where.

I can tell you without any doubt that all 8 brackets have a different part number, and they have a letter stamped into them that dictates where they go, looking at the TM page above bracket # 2 is stamped with a big D, # 3 has a big C, #12 has a big B, #11 a big A, This is for the left side, the right side will have the same image number but the last number of the part numbers are different with different letters, right side # 2 has a E, #3 has a F, #12 has a G and # 11 has a H. I just bough a new "used" set and a left arm for the Alley Cat because the ones I had on hand were bent. Have fun!

Thanks for all your comments, I will have another look at the rear suspension mounts to see they are in the correct loction/order and double check my current measurements.

I was looking at that picture of Mr. R's bent control arm and thinking of how that can happen and I think I know the answer. Also a couple other things to look at in the same light. These vehicles have eyes on the wheel hubs. They are called lifting eyes but I hear them called tie downs a lot. If these are used as a tie down on a trailer and someone uses a large ratchet strap or even worse and ratcheting load binder as would be used on a truck, it is entirely possible to bend the control arm exactly as Mr. Recovery's was bent and on top of that it is very likely that the cross member will also be bent. You are pulling back or forwards in most trailer tie down situations so assuming you are pulling back the leverage will pull out on the outer mounting brackets and push in on the inner brackets. When you suspect something may be bent be sure to look there also. Same with the front, since this is not a real actual solid frame the front can pull the control arm mounts out from the frame also. I have not seen this but I have not looked. I will be looking at mine since the front wheel alignment on mine requires unequal shims to set camber.

Nope, it is an A2 and it was mashed so hard it broke the mounting ears off of the rear differential. I never even looked at the control arms. The frame rails are bent down behind the rear crossmember. Yep, still have crusher and rustbucket in the back yard.
