So, Rick, how do you work with the Barsleak? I have had bad experiences with putting it in low pressure systems and the solids settle in the bottom of the radiator closing the drain petcocks and preventing flushing in the future. Do you pressurize the system per the instructions and run it in a hot system for a while and then drain out the remaining solids? Or do you just add a can and run it a leave it.
f you say it works for you, you must be doing something right.

I did use the liquid glass type product on a cracked coling chamber on a Model T. This was two years ago. So far, so good.

Take the radiator cap off and get the engine warmed up and coolant circulating. Do not get it hot first and then remove the cap as this will cause it to boil over on systems with hotter thermostats. Add the Bars leaks and make sure it is all in the radiator and the coolant is circulating, flush off any residue around the cap area with fresh water and replace the cap and take the vehicle for a ride. After that I have never had any issues. Yes, I have had it clog the drain sometimes but that is nothing more than a quick shot of air or water from the hose from the outside and it s clear. It is not meant to be a permanent fix, a lot of people leave it in there for years. It will not do any harm but technically it is made to plug a leak for a short time until the part can be replaced or repaired. In reality once the leak is stopped people forget about t and with the Bars Leaks in the system it keeps the leak from coming back. So yes, it may settle in some systems but flushing will remove it if need be.

Sounds like a plan...now, about those little pellets put into the cylinder heads through the spark plug holes to cure the need for a ring job . . . do they still sell that junk?

Yup, Those and the magnetic gas line things that polarize the molecules in the gasoline to give you 25 more horsepower. Try them and let me know how they work will ya?
