Rear cross member construction?

Unread post by Refit1701 » May 12th, 2019, 2:18 pm

I've look at lots of photos of the rear area of the jeep and am still not 100% on the number of pieces that make up the rear crossmember.
Once the rear panel is out, you can see it.

The photos from Guy's resto thread gives me some clue but there seems to be something missing. I thought the crossmember was a "C" shape but looking at what's left of mine, it's a box with extra pieces welded between the center support and the outside frame extensions.
Here is a photo, mind you we are removing the lower flange, which was part of the "C" shape.

(Hmm, having trouble linking to my photo account today for some reason) Finally got it figured out!

Is there a drawing which calls out the components in this area?

We make all of those pieces. Unless you want the challenge of doing it yourself, we have them in stock.
