Additional rear axle
I am toying with the idea of building a dune buggy using all mutt parts and was wondering if i made it 6 wheel drive with the addition of another mutt differential, would the rearmost axle turn in the correct direction being driven by the axle in front of it?
Re: Additional rear axle
Yes, it would be the same as the stumpjumper mutts built by Murray and others. They actually built one one the military as a prototype but it was never used. You KNOW I will have to come up and see that project!

Re: Additional rear axle
Ford made the XM-408 prototype. I'd like to see a 8x8 HEMTT-Mutt.

I don't think I would wan't to build it on the factory unibody! And man would that steering geometry be a nightmare to design!Flyingvan911 wrote:Ford made the XM-408 prototype. I'd like to see a 8x8 HEMTT-Mutt.
