1974 A2 uncut I purchased late last year. I am restoring a M-715 currently so the 151 will be a bit slow at first. I pieced together a power pack and have it running, rebuilt the transmission this past winter. Pretty much stripped, blasted/primed/painted a few things already. Picked up a large amount of new parts at the Gilbert show last fall which was a big help, that's where I picked up the engine as well. Will update as I go along, this will be the 4th 151 restoration, I plan on keeping this one.

Restoration of the M715 has been finished for a while now and work has been at a steady pace on the A2, just now taking pictures again I will try and get caught up on the progress within the next few days.

74 should have a different top radiator mount, the cheap one out of pressed steel, not the cast one. Do you trust those freeze plugs? Last thing you want is a leaking plug once the engine is installed. But with already a couple of 151 restored, I'm sure you know what you are doing

Probably tough to see but all the freeze plugs are out, the engine is from an A1 that I converted to A2 configuration as much as needed to install and work in an A2, can't get anything past you guys here!

A few parts received today, the majority of metal removed, I save it all just in case I need a reference, body waiting for sandblasting when the humidity cooperates, all shafts refurbished.

CMD/Guy loomis made the panels for me , he made a very nice complete cowl panel for me, this was a lot of work but turned out excellent, you can see I have started the heater kit hole drilling process, it had a heater originally. I hid the seam of the front floor/battery compartment under the lip of the seat support, all the metal left bright came from CMD except the battery floor and the tool box divider which I made myself using a brake and shear. When I roll it on it's side I will post pictures, I used a small underbody kit to replace the front cross members, all the rest of the supports were very well preserved from an Army rustproofing process.

A lot of the A2 is finished, I know it seems strange the hood is done it just worked out that way during the process.

A NOS heater kit was at the door last night so today I drilled and fitted the kit, I pre fit every part of the tub before blasting and paint. The A2 had a heater in it but the main united was pretty rusted out, it was interesting that quite a few of the parts were never installed on the original install, none of the support brackets were there.

When installing these kits take the install instructions as a guide only, if not you will end up with a mess, use the parts as templates as you go along and make templates when you have to. I made one for the top of the cowl where the large hole is cut and used the support brackets themselves as templates to drill after the main unit was in place, worked perfectly. Since I am the commander of this project I authorized myself a MWO and welded a nut to the inside lip of the cowl to secure the outside support bracket, not sure how they expect you to reach behind there. All the holes are drilled now and back out it comes.
