Titan bodies in Cocoa, Fla

Unread post by muttguru » October 25th, 2019, 3:44 pm

I found these today...... "lost" since 2001. These are photos of Chet King's Titan body-building progress from year 2000 at his place in Cocoa, Florida.

Unfortunately the pictures were not good quality to start with...... but they are interesting to see....and although the vehicles have A1-type front fenders, they do have A2 rear suspension as well as that identifier.... the round-edged door-scoop.

Thanks for posting, I call mine a Titan but I think it's an Alley Cat with square fenders and footwells, it was titled as a Jeep.

That appears to be an Encore. The Encore was the only one to have the footwell cutout like the original M151. Plus they were made in Clearwater Fla.

I thought the Titan's were made in Texas?

I just posted a reply to that thread not long ago regarding them. After finding out that Encore was put out of business by a cease and desist order from the feds saying they could no longer make the M-151 vehicles do you really think another company could buy their stock and equipment and continue where they left off? Not very likely and if they did it didn't last long before they were snagged. Probably what brought on the auction I showed. And there was an ad somewhere that proved that they did in fact buy out Encore so I was right there, they are Encore bodies.

Re: Was: Titan Now: Encore bodies in Cocoa, Fla

My apologies, folks. Those pictures from Chet King are Encores. Not Titans. I found those photos a few days ago having not seen them since they disappeared (down the back of a wardrobe) years ago. I was sure that Chet told me they were Titans but although the envelope was there with the pictures, his letter wasn't.....I've searched and searched...no luck (yet)....sorry guys... my mistake

I like the looks of the Encore better. (My 2 Cents)
I saw somewhere that is was a body only sold new? Does that mean no suspension ?
