Thanks, wolfram! Still lots of work to do. Talked to guy the other day about ordering some metal. In the meantime my two other Jeeps have taken the majority of my free time. I’ve neglected but not forgotten my MUTT!

Alright, gents. I’ve done as much searching and reading as I could, and was wondering if I can enlist some help. I’m mocking up the 13660B carb that I sourced on eBay, and I believe I have some fittings missing. As a recap, my rig was missing the fuel tank and carb when I bought it. Please have a look at the photo and the two ports with nothing run to them. Any place where I can source what’s missing? The manuals I’m reading online aren’t honestly helpful with poor photo quality. (And yes, everything in my engine bay is unacceptably dirty).

Thanks a ton, y’all.

The fitting on top is a vapor return and is only used on the A2 so a 1/8 pipe plug works fine there. The one below it is the fuel inlet and there is a special fitting for that one. It is 1/8 fine thread and is the same thread pitch as 1/8 inch pipe, as in the filter and tapered fittings that you always see attached to these carbs. But the correct fitting has straight threads and a flat nut with a teflon washer as a seal and is 90 degree for the A1 and 60 degree for the A2. I know Army Jeep parts has one or the other but I don't remember which.

All-

Sorry to mash the "easy button" here, but I'm going to ask y'all to feed me until I learn to fish...

I've been looking online through the forums, dozens upon dozens of pics, and the mx manuals. Since I didn't have the original setup on this rig or a similar one to compare (What we Army pilots used to call an "Air Force Check"), I'm having some serious difficulty figuring out what pieces and parts I'm missing, and what I need in order to get the fuel delivery system reinstalled for this '66 A1. I have a 13660B Carb and a NOS emissions tank, which is quickly leading me down the road of FrankenMUTT status. My questions are these:

For the fuel tank, which components do I need in order to get it connected again? Which sending unit, which fuel pump (I've seen what appears to be an engine driven unit and an electric in-tank unit)? Which holes in the tank need to be plugged, vs. what components purchased for what purpose? Which fuel cap would be the correct version for operational purposes (not aesthetics/accuracy), or does it matter?

For the carb/fuel lines, what is the best method y'all know of to get an emissions tank running on a non-emissions A1 while utilizing a 13660B carb?

On the carb, I have two connection points I can identify; One for the throttle/gas pedal linkage, and one for the choke cable. Is this it? Am I missing a spring to connect those two linkages on the carb itself, or are those connections supposed to be operated independently of each other?

Thanks again, y'all. Very sorry if this is a rehash of things in other threads.

Ok, Here is the fuel line fitting. https://www.armyjeepparts.com/p-3882-m1 ... 21892.aspx
As far as the gas tank I can't really help you much there since I have never converted one but I know someone on here did so hopefully they will chime in. The spring for the carb goes from the bracket that hangs down from the bottom carb mounting bolt ( bet you don't have that either huh? ) back to the bottom of the bellcrank for the throttle on the intake manifold.

I am getting ready to post a whole bunch of stuff for sale as soon as I finish up the suspension in the Mustang and I can move the 151 over to that side of the garage so I can get some pictures of the stuff to go.

I made my own pickup tube but would be just as easy to buy one, made 3 blinds out of 1/8" aluminum and made my own gaskets, that's a return vapor line running back into the tank, venting through fuel cap. The first pic is a NOS tube, you can remove the vacuum pump and replace with a manual fuel pump or go with an external electric 24v pump, it uses the same sending unit.

Yep, that is the bracket, It bolts on top of the carb flange on the bottom bolt with the little lip facing out.
