replaced my idler arm

Unread post by 199th mp » November 15th, 2013, 10:23 am

well, i had an interesting time on this. i have a 66 A1, and the idler arm went south. fortunately for me Fil had one, and i'm now back on the road. odd thing though---the one Fil sent was correct, but it did not match the one i had. turns out the one i had on my jeep was for an early straight 151, which was designed differently that the A1 version. i don't know if the early model can be rebuilt, or if there is anyone who needs an original early idler arm for their 151 project. if any body needs this for a project, they can have it for what ever it costs to ship it to their location. again, it is not currently usable, the bushings are completely worn out---but if you can replace the bushings, it is straight and complete. just send me a PM. otherwise i'll just throw it out.
