Subject: Did You Know?
Don't want to hang a modern, non-milspec fire extinguisher on your special vehicle? Don't want to take it in the wallet just to have period correct, and serviceable fire protection on board? Well, we all can understand that, and help is at hand.
A U.S. military surplus can, type PA-70, for 60MM mortar rounds...(you might think of it as a double-height 50 cal can) does a dandy job of holding two (and maybe even three) Kiddee 1A:10B:C, Dry Chemical, 2.5 lb. fire extinguishers. How many you can load in there depends upon how well you bunk them.
These modern fire extinguishers may look out of place and dry chemical does make a big mess to have to clean up, but fires make an even bigger mess. So, when a fire starts, having a fire extinguisher, ANY fire extinguisher on hand is hard to say no to. But having the PA-70 ammo can on board, filled with several capable fire extinguishers can mean that help is just a moment away and it will help you keep your rig looking strack, whether it is on fire...or otherwise.
As you were.
Cheers,
TJ

Are you looking to give them away, sell them or what? Why don't you tell us a little about yourself. What kind of vehicle do you have?

Re: Fire Extinguisher Carry Can
I got about 10 of those and some other various size cans while I was running Land Warfare training for the East Coast Teams. Sorry, I'm an active duty Navy guy, transferred to Millington, TN (basically Memphis) to write orders for the enlisted SEALs and I'll retire out here. I've inherited, sorta, a 1966 m151a1 that I'm collecting all the parts to restore period correct for vietnam, minus the pedestal mount will have a MK43 machine gun instead of an M60, just because that's what I grew up with early in my career. I can make a separate post on here somewhere, didnt want to clog up the thread though. If your close to Memphis, swing by and I'll give you a can or 2 for free. Dont want to ship them. Also I have the 2 separate size m60 mortar cans, the shorter one for HE rounds and the taller ones for illum rounds.
